using http special characters in combobox

hello –
this may not be possible, but i would like to be able to embed special characters in the ComboBox:

including AMPERSAND  POUND-SIGN  number-number SEMICOLON seems to make it impossible to delete an item.
please let me know what you think.
also, i apologize for raising so many issues.  but i find that ComboxBox is simply amazing and wish to use it on all of our websites.
